There are seven notes in music . Sa : Shadja Re : Rishabh Ga : Gandhar Ma : madhyam Pa : pancham Dha : Dhaivat Ni : Nishad
These are known as the shudh swar . Re ga dha ni are also komal alongwith shudh . Komal swar is before the respective shudh swar . eg : Re komal is before Re shudh and so on . In case of ma it has a tivra alongwith shudh . Ma tivra is after Ma shudh . Sa and pa is always shudh .
Saptak : It consists of 7 notes Sa re ga ma pa dha ni Main 3 saptaks are the madhya , mandra and tar . Kharja is to the base ( left side ) of mandra saptak .
Fingering key points :
1 ) Follow the fingering in the exercises .
2 ) In songs fingering should be changed as per the next note to be played , taking help from the exercises pattern .
3 ) Ga and ni usually thumb should be used .
Tips :
Record the exercises and the songs on the sound recorders of ur mobile or audio cassette from the mikes or music systems uve . So u can even listen and play it offline .
All exercises and songs are played in Kali 1 ie Black 1 scale . In western it is known as the C# scale
There are 12 scales 5 black scales and 7 white scales known as Kali 1 , Kali 2 till Kali 5 and Pandhri 1 to Pandhri 7 .
Most important is also listening to what ur playing while playing ur songs to develop swargyan .
